Our Parents/Teachers/Officers (PTO) meeting for school year 2010-2011 is scheduledfor Saturday 10/22 at Wright Elementary School from 1:15pm to 1:45pm. We will elect two board members andapprove personnel changes for CCA officers. We will also talk about what'shappening in school and future plans. All CCA parents are welcomed into themeeting.

At the end of PTO meeting, two new board members will be elected to replace Stevan Lee and Yo-Ming Hong who have served in the CCA board andprovide valuable and constructive advices for past two years. Their efforts arehighly appreciated

Chinese New Year Celebration - Table Sign Up

Dear CCA Teacher, Parent Representatives and parents,

Our school is going to have a Chinese New Year celebration on 2/13/2010. The New Year celebration committee would like your help for coordinating the event. This year we plan to have the same format for the New Year celebration as we had in the past. You will find the table layout (click here) to be used for sign up for your class. This table layout is pretty close to what we had in last year. Also, please note the following statements.

For the teacher and parent representative of each class:

(1) Please plan and initiate the activity/activities you would like to have on 2/13/2010.
(2) Please sign up the table for your class. We will have the table sign-up sheet prepared on 1/16/2010. The table fee is $25. So, please plan beforehand for your table sign-up.
(3) If any of you or your class plan to perform on stage on 2/13, please let us know. We will arrange a time for your performance.
(4) If your class has decided not to sign up a table, please let us know.

The fee for the math class is $70 for each Match class student who is not registered in any CCA's language class in first semester of 2009-2010. The Speech Contest this year will be held on Saturday 12/12/2009 in two ways, word recognition for lower grade and dictionary lookup for higher grade.

Dictionary Lookup contest: 5th, 8th, 10th, and 11th.

Word recognition contest: K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6,7, 9, 12 and Ping-Ying 1 and 2.

Our Parents/Teachers/Officers (PTO) meeting is scheduled for Saturday October 24th at D.W. Elementary School from 1:15pm to 1:45pm. All CCA parents are welcomed into the meeting.

At the end of PTO meeting, three new board members will be elected to replace Ying-Liang Chou, Lin Chiu, and Kim Sherman who have served in the CCA board and provide valuable and constructive advices for past two years. Their efforts are highly appreciated.

有關僑委會調整購贈海外僑校教材方式事

僑委會為推廣海外正體字華語文教育及輔助僑校健全發展，每年均編列約新台幣6,000萬元預算用於購置及寄運僑校所需教材，然近年來因全球華文熱，僑教需求隨之擴張，僑委會教材購贈經費日益吃緊，為有效解決此一困境，同時廣納各地僑校對於教材供應方式之革新建議，僑委會前於本（98）年6月22日召開「僑教工作研討會」，邀集海外各地僑校校長、主任及重要僑教人士共策未來僑教工作方針，有關教材供應方式，與會者對於「回收運用」之環保理念及「使用者付費」原則多表認同。

為能在有限預算內滿足僑校多元化之教材選擇，提升教材供應之效益及符合節能減碳之時代趨勢，未來各地區僑校教科書供應規劃依「使用者付費」及「回收運用」原則分兩階段逐步調整：

一、自99年起，僑委會教材寄運方式由現行的點對點（以海郵逕寄各校）改為以海運寄至當地駐外館處或一特定地點，再由各校至定點提領，以撙節高額之國際運費。如需由定點轉寄，則當地運費由僑校自行負擔；如欲由國內直接以國際快捷或其他費用較高之方式寄運，所需運費由僑校自理，以符合使用者付費之理念。

二、自100年起，僑校教材採三年回收運用原則供應，即第一年提供足量教材數，第二年及第三年僅提供第一年數量的10%，供新增學生及破損替換之用。
僑委會作前述變革旨在促使僑校珍惜資源，妥善運用教材。未來教材供應並將朝「在地化」、「數位化」之方向調整，以利僑校永續發展。

僑委會考量各僑區幅員及僑校分佈型態未盡相同，為使變革順利推展且不致造成僑校過度不便，今請中心轉致貴協會就前揭事項廣徵所屬會員僑校意見及評估可行性後，煩請於10月15日前將相關資料彙整後送中心轉僑委會參辦。在此非常感謝您的協助！順頌時綏！

Ticket on sale for ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, 10/11 - Opening night at Southern Theatre, Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 7:00 pm. Guest Artist, Tiffany Poon (piano), is going to have a one night only performance of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21. It costs $10 dollars each ticket ($46 purchase online). If you would like to purchase the ticket, please stop by CCA office or email Principal at principal@cmhcca.org.

All money received from ticket sale will be used for CCA’s operation.

CCA Fun Day - Fall Outing

Dear CCA families,

CCA plans to have a CCA fall outing on 9/27 at Leeds Farm (http://www.leedsfarm.com).

Please be advised that the discount on Barn Passes is only given if 20 or more are purchased atthe same time. The Leeds Farm does not give the discount if folks come a few at a time and say they are with a group.

This is a family gathering event, very informal. We meet at gate at 1:15pm on 9/27. Then, the families can go as group or they don't have to get together once there. The regular barn pass administration is $7, (age 3 through adult). Our Public Relation Officer, Angel Turner, is able to negotiate with a discounted price of $6 if we have 20 people or more. There is a Horse Drawn Hayrides special event only on 9/26 and 9/27. A hay ride ticket is $2 per person. We don’t have to collect money in advance as you are responsible for your own expense.

CCA will not be responsible for your children in anyway.

校規:
1. 老師來之前, 請勿進入教室
2. 請勿在學校內奔跑及追逐
3. 請勿使用書桌內的用品
4. 如須使用學校用品 (例如;傢俱), 用畢後請放回原處
5. 請勿使用教職員工廁所
6. 二樓教室將於下午三時關閉, 請勿逗留
7. 教室內不能吃口香糖和飲料(除水以外)

School Rules:
1. Students are not allowed to get into the classroom until their teachers are presented.
2. Do not running in the classroom, hall, and commons.
3. Do not use stuff inside student desk.
4. If school members move furniture, they have to put it back.
5. Do not use staff restrooms.
6. We will shutdown the upstairs at 3PM. Please do not stay at the second floor after 3PM.
7. There is no gum chewing or drinking of anything other than water in the classrooms
